New identities for 7-cores with prescribed BG-rank

چکیده
Let π be a partition. BG-rank(π) is defined as an alternating sum of parities of parts of π [1]. In [2], Berkovich and Garvan found theta series representations for the t-core generating functions P n≥0 at,j(n)q , where at,j(n) denotes the number of t-cores of n with BG-rank = j. In addition, they found positive eta-quotient representations for odd t-core generating functions with extreme values of BG-rank. In this paper we discuss representations of this type for all 7-cores with prescribed BG-rank. We make an essential use of the Ramanujan modular equations of degree 7 [3] to prove a variety of new formulas for the 7-core generating function

BG-Ranks and 2-Cores
We find the number of partitions of n whose BG-rank is j, in terms of pp(n), the number of pairs of partitions whose total number of cells is n, giving both bijective and generating function proofs. Next we find congruences mod 5 for pp(n), and then we use these to give a new proof of a refined system of congruences for p(n) that was found by Berkovich and Garvan.
متن کاملOn the Andrews-stanley Refinement of Ramanujan’s Partition Congruence modulo 5 and Generalizations
In a recent study of sign-balanced, labelled posets, Stanley introduced a new integral partition statistic srank(π) = O(π)−O(π′), where O(π) denotes the number of odd parts of the partition π and π′ is the conjugate of π. In a forthcoming paper, Andrews proved the following refinement of Ramanujan’s partition congruence mod 5: p0(5n+ 4) ≡ p2(5n+ 4) ≡ 0 (mod 5), p(n) = p0(n) + p2(n), where pi(n)...

متن کاملOn bounded weak approximate identities and a new version of them
In this paper, we give a short survey of results and problems concerning the notion of bounded weak approximate identities in Banach algebras. Also, we introduce a new version of approximate identities and give one illuminating example to show the difference.
متن کاملO-4: The Interaction of Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles with Mesenchymal Stem Cells In Vitro
Background: Bioactive glass (BG) nanoparticles are amongst the most promising class of biomaterials for hard tissue regeneration because of their distinctive properties of rapid bone bonding, controlled biodegradability and their ability to stimulate new bone growth. Despite the vast interest in BG scaffolds in medical applications, the synthesis of bioactive glass nanoparticles is still facing...
